Computer Games of the Year 2000

Topping the Academy's list as Game of the Year, was the Sims from Electronic Art. The game, which has no violence or sex, lets computer users 1)manipulate little 2)cyber people, almost like they're in a 3)dollhouse. The Sims also picked up awards for Outstanding Game Design and Outstanding Game Play Engineering. Best Computer Game went to Age of Empires II: Age of Kings. Like the Sims, Age of Empires brought non-traditional game players to the computer. Star Wars: 4)Episode I racer for Nintendo 64 got the nod for Best Racing Game, Knock King 2000 was Best Sports Game, and Soul Calibur picked up Console Game of the Year.
